About the Chase
The annul Grenoside Chase was been resurrected in 1992, after a ten year gap. For the benefit of anyone who has not heard of this old Grenoside event, it started in 1950 by Mr. Walter Platts,n old Grenoside resident, and was competed for annually till 1992. Mr Walter Platts passed away but his nephew Gary kept thefamily tradition alive, until work commitments unfortunately forced himto cease being the main organiser. The event has was revived by a new committee which thankfully has another member of the Platts family Matthew, 8 years Landlord of The Old Harrow, Peter Hughes, Graham Foster and the very importatant members of the committee.
All competitors will receive a Chase Programme, and on completion of the Chase course will receive a Chase medal. the presentations will be held outside The Old Harrow public house. Unfortunately The Chase was postponed last year due to unforseen circumstances

Also we would like to say thankyou to all the members of the committee and the stewards for their tirelesswork in bringing this event back to life.
Finally a word about the safety protection of both the runners and the spectators, the main parts of the road will have barriers.
Please be sure to stay on the correct side of these barriers and observe the stewards instructions, good luck to all competitors, and heres hoping everyone will have an enjoyable evening.
